Prayers for Family
As we focus our prayers for families today, Father, we lift up the lives of the unborn. Lord you remind us that “Before YOU formed us in the womb, YOU knew us, before we were born YOU set us apart.” (Jeremiah 1:5) “Your eyes saw our unformed bodies. All the days ordained for us were written in YOUR Book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:16) Jesus, we know that You are the way, the Truth and the Life and we pray that You help us to choose the path that leads to life in all circumstances.
We know that You have “plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) and we know that those plans are for the unborn as well. Thank you for breathing life into us and may we be Your breath of life in a lost, lonely, and hurting world. As followers of Christ, we are called to be instruments of light and You give us opportunities to share the hope that we have in You. May we be excellent stewards of the grace and mercy that You have shown each of us.
Lord, help us to set our hearts on heavenly things and not earthly things. (Col. 3:2) We want to be known for what we are for and not against and we are for You, Jesus, because You loved us and were for us first. Lord, You are a “Life Preserver” and have “preserved our lives according to Your Word.” (Psalm 119:25) Please help us live Your Word in a way that leads others to choose life, to choose YOU for themselves. Amen.
