Prayers for Our City: April 16, 2018 – Government

“When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.”  Psalm 91:15 NLT

We thank You, Lord, for those who rescue and help us at their own risk. We bless and honor the Huntsville Fire and Rescue Department under the leadership of Fire Chief Howard McFarlen. This month 28 graduated from the training academy to join the staff of 395 firefighters who provide many other valuable services to our community in addition to fire suppression, including emergency medical treatment, technical rescue services and response to hazardous material releases. (see the list of graduates here)

We declare Psalm 91 over our fire department personnel and ask You to spread Your supernatural protection over them as they rush to protect us. Remind us to pray whenever we see their flashing lights and hear their sirens. Grant them wisdom, strength, courage, and skill. We bless their families with peace.

We love and trust You as our Protector, Father, and we pray every firefighter will develop that relationship with You and declare with confidence: “He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.”  Psalm 91:2 NLT
