Prayers for Our City: April 30, 2018 – Church
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 33:12a NIV
We thank You, Father God, that our nation established a federal law in 1952 calling for a National Day of Prayer. Thank You that our President, State Governors and many local mayors sign proclamations that the first Thursday in May shall be designated as a day to call the nation to prayer. (To find all the prayer events in Madison County, go to nationaldayofprayer.org and enter your zip code in the Find An Event link) We bless the National Day of Prayer Task Force working on the national, state and local levels to mobilize unified, public prayer for America.
As we consider this year’s theme, PRAY FOR AMERICA – UNITY, we humbly acknowledge that You are the only One who can bring unity, harmony and oneness in our nation; and therefore, we look only to You in prayer. Empower us by Your Spirit to take all necessary actions that lead to forgiveness, reconciliation, healing and unity in our churches, families, schools, and workplaces throughout all the communities in this nation.
Consider joining in the Bible Reading Marathon, especially Wednesday evening, May 2, at 7 pm when all are invited to read the final chapter of Revelation together as a community of believers and worship Jesus as Lord.
