Prayers for Our City: April 5, 2020 – Holy Week Triumph
“…all of His followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. “Blessings on the King who comes in the Name of the Lord…” Luke 19:37-38 NLT
Jesus, as we remember Your triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the cheers of the palm waiving throng, we welcome you once again into Huntsville/Madison County as our Lord and King! May Holy Week 2020 be a very profound time of appreciation for all You did for all mankind. May it also be filled with life-giving encounters with Your mercy, resurrection power, and love!
Just as You observed Passover with Your disciples, may each of our families realize that Your blood, as God’s sacrificial Lamb, is still necessary and capable of covering each of our homes and lives to cause death to pass over. We apply Your precious Blood to the doorposts of our hearts and the homes of our community, state, nation, and this globe. Even this week as we honor and celebrate Your great sacrifice, may the truth that You came to give life and to destroy the works of the devil give hope to this world that You so love. (1 John 3:8, John 3:16)
Thank You, Father, for reminding us again that even when we are not gathering in our buildings, we are still the Church and we will worship You in Spirit and Truth! (John 4:23-24) We bow in humble adoration at the foot of the Cross to hear the words once again – “It is finished!” The price was paid for our sins, sickness, bondage, and torment. (Psalm 103:1-6) As the Body of Christ worldwide raises their hallelujahs to Your throne of grace this very week, we believe the curse of this pandemic of sickness and lack us reversed, in Jesus’ Name! Revelation 12:11 “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings…” Malachi 4:2
