Prayers for Our City-August 8, 2016
“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city….
Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
Jer. 29:7
Father, we do pray for the peace, prosperity, protection and purity of Huntsville/Madison County. As our city leaders and planners are looking at the big issues and opportunities ahead for the future, we pray Your wisdom and Hand of guidance on all decisions. We thank You for Big Picture Huntsville and the opportunity all citizens have to be informed and give input and place priorities on various projects being considered. Give us your dreams for our city. [You can currently see a display of the plans for the future at the main branch of the public library.]
We bless Chad Emerson, CEO of Downtown Huntsville Inc. and his staff as they work to revitalize the downtown area. Would You hand pick the new retailers, businesses and tenants for the three major projects currently underway in our downtown: CityCentre at Big Spring, The Avenue, and The Garage at Clinton Row. And we also cover the newest mixed-use development breaking ground this fall for completion by spring 2018: 225 Holmes. [picture below]
We thank You, Father, for new life coming to Madison Square Mall which will now be known as MidCity. May there be a good ending for remaining tenants and a healthy launch of this mixed-use “city within itself” project. [See artist’s concept of MidCity after redevelopment below.] Enable developer, RCP Company, to envision what You have in mind for this property as we declare that it will be a safe, family friendly area that benefits our city.
How it encourages us that Your plans for each of us and for our city are for good and not disaster; to give us a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Connect the hearts of our city’s civic leaders to Your heart, Father. And we declare that the spiritual leaders of the Body of Christ are just as united and diligent about bringing “revitalization” (revival) to Huntsville/Madison County as our civic leaders are!!
“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.” Ps. 33:11
“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” Ps. 85:6
