Prayers for Our City: December 16, 2019 – Government
“May God our Father give you grace and peace. We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God,…” Colossians 1:2b-3a NLT
This week we express gratitude for the many people who work for our city/county – the ones who make our city/county work! Father, would You bless them all, especially at this Christmas time! We know so few of these people, but we appreciate what they do for us.
- the garbage collectors who keep the city clean
- the road builders and pavers who make commutes possible
- our first responders who ensure our safety and help in times of trouble
- our landscapers and Green Team who keep our city pretty and clean
- our shuttle bus drivers who get citizens where they need to go
- our Parks and Recreation team who ensure we can play as hard as we work
- our General Service staff who maintain city buildings and build new ones
- all our administrators and department heads who ensure Huntsville/Madison County is one of the top places to live and work

[If you know any of these folks personally, be sure to express our blessings and appreciation to them, especially during this holiday season! Yes! Catch your garbage collector and mail person going by and give them some Christmas goodies and ask how you can pray for them!]
All of these people are gifts to our community, Father. We ask You to give each one of them the gift of a Jesus encounter that causes them to be consumed with Your love so every public servant becomes an instrument of peace and joy in Your Hand as they work to accomplish Your vision for Huntsville/Madison County.
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” Colossians 3:23 NLT
