Prayers for Our City- Happy Labor Day – September 4, 2017
“Now you [collectively] are Christ’s body and [individually] you are members of it,
Each with his own place and function. So God has appointed some in the church
[for His own use]: ….HELPERS…”
I Corinthians 12:27 & 28 AMP
We praise and thank You, Father, that the Body of Christ of Huntsville/Madison County prays AND takes action when there is a disaster. We bless the PAR organization (Prepare and Respond) which was birthed by individuals who responded to the April 2011 tornado disaster in our own region; organizing and pooling their resources and skills. PAR represents multiple churches and organizations throughout north Alabama and is now a permanent disaster response team.
Father, we ask that many more Christians will become aware of this ministry and become volunteers [visit http://parforthecause.org to see what you can do]. We ask for your wisdom and heavenly strategies to fill the leaders as they assess how PAR can best assist the victims from Hurricane Harvey [donations can be made at their website]. May their monthly meeting this week (9/7) be filled with the sense of Your hope and joy as they plan and prepare to go be Your hands and feet to the hurting.
Thank You, Lord, for the awesome display of unity through the many churches in our city who actively support PAR by providing volunteers, donating funds, or hosting a fully-equipped disaster relief trailer on site for quick responses.
“Let Your work be revealed to Your servants…
and let the beauty and delightfulness and favor
of the Lord our God be upon us;
Confirm and establish the work of our hands…”
Psalms 90:16-17
