Prayers for Our City: January 14, 2019 – Business
“But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…” Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV
We thank You this week, Father, for the economic blessings that have come to Huntsville/Madison County that continue to bring growth. As we acknowledge that it is You who gives the ability to produce wealth, we cover these developments in prayer asking that all will move forward with honesty, integrity, wisdom and with the welfare of employees in mind.
Thank You, Lord, for these economic developments that are underway in 2019 (pray as the Spirit leads over each):
Mazda Toyota plant: $1.6 billion facility, creating up to 4,000 jobs, production expected to begin by 2021
FBI at Redstone Arsenal: major expansion bringing 1,350 employees from Washington area and ultimately creating over 4,000 new jobs
Blue Origin Rocket Engine Plant: $200 million plant, creating over 400 jobs, under construction
Facebook Data Center: $750 million data center, creating over 100 jobs, opening in 2020
Father, we pray blessings and wisdom over city officials and business developers; especially our Chamber of Commerce (Chip Cherry, CEO), Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Madison Mayor Paul Finley, City Council (Jenny Robinson, Pres.), Madison County Commission (Dale Strong, Chair), Huntsville Manager of Urban and Long-Range Planning (David Madsen), Huntsville Director of Planning (Michelle Jordan), Planning Commission (Les Tillery, Chair), and many others.
And here’s a list of some of the new restaurants, bars and stores planning to open in 2019 in the new development areas of Huntsville and Madison: 22 big things coming in 2019 to Huntsville
And even as we pray over these new beginnings, Lord, we remember to ask You to bless and keep watch over all the older established businesses that have served us and provided employment for so many over the years. May all of them prosper and grow as well, under Your gracious Hand.
We pray that all our leaders, planners, and business owners will acknowledge You and proceed with Your wisdom in all things, for unless You are the One ultimately in charge of the development and building of Huntsville/Madison County, our labors are in vain.
