Prayers for Our City: January 15, 2018 – Education
“The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal
and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence];
but fools despise skillful and godly wisdom, instruction, and discipline.” Prov. 1:7 amp
Father, we come before You to thank You for our Educational system and ask for Your help in the areas it is weak or broken. As a state, we earned a C on the new single grade reporting system. [The A-F report card for Individual schools will be released Feb. 1. See http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2018/01/how_did_alabama_get_a_c_on_its.html ]
We are sorry, Lord, and repent on behalf of those who have not just disregarded Your Word and prayer, but worked to eliminate Your influence from the educational system of this land. We praise You that no rules and attitudes of men can keep Your Spirit out of our schools! We release through prayer a fresh outpouring of the wonderful fruits of Your Spirit into our schools. Call and anoint administrators, teachers, and staff who will receive and release Your wisdom, peace, kindness, creativity, patience and truth to our students. Call and anoint parents and students to model love, joy, gentleness, self control and grace. Release angels to assist in patrolling the hallways and class rooms to establish peace and order.
We know when these foundational needs are met, that academic and attendance issues will improve as well. We humbly acknowledge that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and that we need Your wisdom for improving our educational system.
So we bless our state and local School Superintendents and Boards of Education. As we pray, we trust You to bring solutions to problems, freedom from what has bound us to the past, and healing to a hurting generation. Thank You that this is a year of transformation!
“Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things..” Jer. 33:3
