Prayers for Our City: July 13, 2020 – Government
“But select capable men from all the people — men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain — and appoint them as officials…” Exodus 18:21 NIV
Lord, we come before You this week thanking You for our freedom in You and the freedoms we enjoy in our nation. We focus this week on our election process to thank You for this system, pray protection over it, and seek Your help in voting according to the values we’ve learned from Your Word.
We cover the runoff election this Tuesday, July 14, and the big general election coming up in November. As the climate in our city, state and nation seems so fragile and volatile during this year of pandemic, financial stress, and racial unrest, we thank You that we are carriers of Your peace and You enable Your people to release that into every relationship, into the atmosphere of our community, and even through the choices we make at the voting booth.
We pray that the Body of Christ will be informed and vote their values in each of the upcoming elections.
