Prayers for Our City: July 29, 2019 – Education
“Don’t pass by without a prayer!”
Join the challenge to faithfully pray for our schools!
Father God, we thank You for the 2019-20 school year. We pray Your peace, protection, provision, purity, and Presence in every school. You’ve heard many of us declaring that blessing for years whenever we drive past a school. (Make a special point to prayer walk/drive at the schools the Holy Spirit points out to you as this school year begins. Click for a complete prayer guide.
We thank You for each of our teachers and pray You draw each one close to Your encouragement, patience, and love. May Your gracious peace cover their relationships with one another, their administration, and with every student! Oh Lord, please provide good teachers for any last-minute spots that are still not filled. We cover every school and all the staff members it takes to run them.
Huntsville City: 36 schools, Mrs. Christie Finley, Superintendent
Madison City: 13 schools, Mr. Robby Parker, Superintendent
Madison County: 29 schools, Mr. Mark Minskey, Interim Superintendent – Pray as the Board begins the process of finding a new Superintendent.
Thank You for Your Hand on our Christian and private schools also gearing up for the new year. Pour out Your Spirit on the children and youth of Huntsville/Madison County. May knowing You, Jesus, be the most exciting, cool thing they experience this year!
If you have kids or grandkids in the system, join or start a Moms-In-Prayer group for their school. (for more information see Moms in Prayer International or contact Marilyn Merkel at merkelm@knology.net)
Lord, we pray for the Word of God and the fear of the Lord to be the basis of wisdom and instruction in our schools!
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 KJV
