Prayers for Our City: July 8, 2019 – Education
“Behold I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it?” Isaiah 43:19 AMPC
We give thanks this week, Lord, for the new school coming to our community in August 2020 to educate students in cyber-security and the cyber sector. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance over those involved with the facility/campus planning, curriculum development, preliminary staffing, and capital campaign planning for the new Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering, which will be an independent residential magnet school located in Cummings Research Park.
We pray Your help and blessings for the Alabama School of Cyber & Engineering Foundation, a non-profit organization established in January 2018 to assist the Board of Trustees with funding and connecting the school with industry, academia, and government.
We bless Matt Massey, who has served as Superintendent of Madison County Schools since 2014 and has been selected to serve as the first president of this school. Lord, as You give him the grace to take on this new responsibility, we ask that You provide just the right person to fill the vacancy in the Superintendent position.

We highlight this new project before You, Lord, asking and expecting Your Hand to guide, protect, and control its future as educators work to “plant the seed early to grow the workforce for some of the most in-demand jobs in North Alabama.”
Lord, we pray for the Word of God and the fear of the Lord to be the basis of wisdom and instruction in this new school and in every school in Huntsville/Madison County!
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 NKJV
