Prayers for Our City: June 20, 2016
“Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage…” Heb. 13:4 NLT
We thank You, Holy Father, for designing the institution of marriage to be the foundation of our families, our communities, and our nation. We do give honor and utmost importance to this sacred institution and ask Your forgiveness where Your people have diminished its worth and settled for the lower standards of the culture.
We bless those sturdy marriages in our community that reflect Your faithfulness and beauty. We pray Your merciful love into marriages which are strained to a breaking point or are failing. We cry out that Your hope and help will come quickly to heal broken hearts and restore intimacy.
We praise You for blessing every marriage in Huntsville/Madison County with a refreshing and a re-centering of our homes in Christ. Today we choose to believe Romans 15:5-6; that You are the God who gives endurance and encouragement and You are able to give us a spirit of unity as married couples who follow Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! We commit ourselves to accept one another just as Christ accepted each of us, in order to bring praise to You (vs. 7).
