Prayers for Our City: June 24, 2019 – Government
“Well done, good and faithful servant…” Matthew 25:21 NIV
This week, Father, we pray blessings and give thanks for the dedicated work of Michelle Jordan, our Director of Planning and Community Development. As she leaves this position for another opportunity, we pray for favor and peace during her transition. May she sense Your love and affirmation as well as receive due appreciation from our City Officials and the citizens who have benefited from her hard work.
We ask now, Lord, that You guide those who will select her replacement to find one who can be as good a mentor, community bridge builder, and encourager as Ms. Jordan has been.
Thank You, Lord, for our Planning Department which is responsible for providing for the orderly growth, development, and redevelopment of the City of Huntsville. We’re asking that You continue to enlighten their eyes and fill their hearts with Your love and vision for this city. May there be ever increasing awareness of Your purpose and destiny for Huntsville/Madison County by both our city and church leaders so we can work together for the good of the people and this region. We are grateful for the dedicated work of the Planning Department which is also staffed by Dennis Madsen, Manager of Urban & Long Range Planning and Thomas Nunez, Manager of Planning Services.
We bless our city Community Development Department, a division of the Planning Department, whose mission is three-fold; stabilization of lower-income neighborhoods, economic empowerment of lower income persons and/or of persons living in lower income neighborhoods, and providing assistance to the special needs population in our community. What an awesome way to bless this city! We pray for even more happy, love-filled volunteers to give their time and energy to the Deferred Home Maintenance Repair Program and World Changers/Community Changers.
Thank You, Father, for caring, hard-working volunteers!
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these..,
you did it for Me.” Matthew 25: 40
