Prayers for Our City: March 13, 2017 – Education
“Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair. Their purpose is to give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young.” Proverbs 1:2-4 NLT
This week we welcome and bless Dr. Matt Akin as he officially begins the work as Superintendent of Huntsville City Schools. Father God, we ask Your Hand to guide him. Cause Dr. Akin to understand and prioritize well the needs of this school system and our precious children. Keep him above conflict and controversy and use him to bring Your unity, stability and peace into all our schools situations as well as the school board. Help, Lord, there is much work to be done.
We also pray for Robert Parker, the new superintendent of Madison City schools as of February 1, who served as assistant superintendent in Madison for 1.5 years and principal at Bob Jones High for 10 years.
And we bless Madison County School Superintendent, Matt Massey, who began his oversight of our county schools January 1, 2015.
Thank You, Lord, for giving our Superintendents and their Boards wisdom, strength and a heart like Yours that wants to see children flourish; that none should perish.
“..your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.” Matt. 18:14
(Please cover them in prayer often. You might consider sending a note of encouragement throughout the school year to your superintendent or to all of them!)
