Prayers for Our City: March 28, 2016-Family
“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you…” Isa. 46:4
Praying Your blessings on our elderly adults of Huntsville/Madison County today, Father. We honor them for the contributions, hard work and sacrifices they have made over the years that we are benefiting from today. We pray protection for those who are still active and mobile, and ask You, Holy Spirit, to fill them with inspiration how best to use their time and energy.
Thank You for granting grace, patience and love to the families who are caring for elderly ones who are homebound, in institutional care, or living with them. Encourage the Church to maintain vital communication with the elderly, to plan outreach to the shut-ins, and pastoral care for family care givers of the elderly. We pray grace and guidance for the operation of nursing, personal care and assisted living facilities for our elderly.
Thank You for the community agencies of compassion which provide practical help, healthcare and “last weeks” home care for the elderly and their families, such as CASA of Madison County, Hospice, Home Instead, Eldercare and others.
Pour out Your strength and peace, Father, on all who are advanced in years. May sickness, loneliness, and infirmity be lifted. Cause them to live to see their prayers answered and make their latter years significant, reflecting the glory of God.
We pray removal of all obstacles that have prevented any of them from trusting in Your saving grace, Jesus; and thank You, Holy Spirit, for confirming God’s love and Presence with our elderly adults.
“…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:20
