Prayers for Our City: May 13, 2019 – Education
“Let’s have a feast and celebrate.” Luke 15:23b NIV
How pleased You are, Father, when we reach important goals, and family and friends take time to celebrate and honor accomplishment. Lord, we want to cover every commencement and graduation celebration with Your love and joy.
As our High School Seniors don their cap and gown, we ask that You clothe them with hope, confidence, and favor to meet the challenges of the next season of their lives. (Madison City Schools graduating May 20. Madison County schools graduating on May 21 and May 22. Huntsville City schools graduating on May 24 and May 25.) For our college friends who are receiving their diplomas, we bless them as well with Your guidance that will direct them into the destiny and purposes for their lives. [Pray by name for every graduate you know! ] Thank You for each teacher, administrator, and school staff that poured time, energy, and love into our students.
As a community, we pray over our graduates (from kindergarten level to college) and celebrate Your Hand of blessing on each life. We thank You for every music/dance recital and for every school program highlighting the advancements our students have made. We welcome You as the guest of honor at every service and celebration, for Your Presence brings miracles! “And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10:16
We thank You for protecting and guiding these children and young adults to this point. All praise and glory to YOU! Inspire our graduates to put to good use all the knowledge, skills, and life lessons gained through their education. A chapter has closed and another eagerly awaits. Pave their road with opportunities and inspire them to live with hope in this incredible journey called life. Continue to bless the graduates with love, mercy, strength, protection, and wisdom. May they live passionately to honor and glorify Your Name. And may they cling to your declaration over them:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
