Prayers for Our City: September 10, 2018 – Business
“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24 NKJV
We thank You, Lord, for our Downtown Rescue Mission serving the homeless people throughout North Alabama and Southern Tennessee for over 40 years. We celebrate with them for being chosen as Nonprofit of the Year in the Huntsville/Madison Chamber of Commerce 2018 Small Business Awards celebration. We honor this ministry for the Christ-filled care they provide for those in desperate need, believing as they bring people under the power of the Gospel they will have victory over their struggles and live a Spirit-filled and fruitful life.
As DRM receives no federal, state or city funding, we are so grateful, Lord, for those local businesses, corporations, individuals and foundations You have called to support this ministry and we pray for an on-going increase of provision! [ Please check their facebook page to see all the exciting fundraising events coming up that you can support https://www.facebook.com/DRMHuntsville/]
As DRM provides many meaningful, ministry-important opportunities for volunteers to serve, we ask You, Father, to pour Your love into and through those who give their time, passion, and talents to be a part of the solution for homelessness in the Tennessee Valley.
Thank You, Father, for the heart of DRM President/CEO Keith Overholt. Be His joy and “safe shelter” as he and his executive team and staff oversee providing nourishment, safe shelter, recovery services, work training, and transitional assistance to hundreds of people in our community. Give wisdom without measure and faith for overcoming mountains to them and their Board of Directors, led by Jay Farrell. Raise up a faithful army of prayer warriors for the DRM, Lord God, to dispel the darkness associated with the rescue of precious souls from bondage and hopelessness.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ…” I Peter 1:3 NKJV
