Prayers for Our City: September 2, 2019 – Church
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:21 NKJV
We thank You, Lord, for the life and ministry of Pastor Annas Aytch, one of Huntsville’s faithful ministers of the Gospel who graduated into Your Presence August 21st. Bishop Aytch was a man of wisdom who taught the Word of God with great depth. Thank You, Lord, for his faithful work to bring reconciliation and unity between churches, races, and the generations in this community. [Dr. Aytch was the founder and pastor of Covenant Ministries Church International here in Huntsville. Before pastoring, he was a founding member of Maranatha Gospel Tabernacle (now the Covenant Church of Pittsburgh) and served under Bishop Joseph L. Garlington.]
We bless Pastor Aytch’s family and church, praying You comfort their hearts and guide them in moving forward without him.
This causes us to think with great appreciation of all the pastors of Huntsville/Madison County. We bless them with long, healthy lives!
We pray for each one to be equipped and empowered by Your Spirit in their calling and gifting. Give them discernment and sensitivity to what is pleasing to You. May they continue to know and live in Your unconditional love, Father, and the freedom of Jesus. Pour Your Spirit upon them in power and humility, giving fresh intimacy with Jesus.
Keep them true to their God-given purpose in ministry and help them guard and prioritize their time. Cause deep friendships with other pastors to grow as they watch together over the spiritual climate of Huntsville/Madison County. As you encourage them, remind them that they are the “elders at the gates” of this city/county and that You have glorious purposes for the Church of this region to transform the 7 Mountains of culture for Your Kingdom’s sake. Care for our shepherds as they care for us!
“Shepherd the flock of God which is among you…. casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” I Peter 5:2, 7
