Seven Mountain Prayer for Our City: Family
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love…” I John 4:16
“For this reason we kneel before You, Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.” Eph. 3:14-15
Father God, Abba, Poppa: As we come before you at the beginning of this new year to pray blessings on the families of Huntsville/Madison County, we praise You for being a good, good Father that knows how to fill His children with hope as You pour out Your love and mercy. Family is Your wonderful creation and the basis of all cultures. It’s exciting to think of the day when we will join Your forever family made up of brothers and sisters from every tribe and nation!
We are so thankful we can come boldly to You on behalf of the hurting families of our community. We all have specific individuals and families (including our own) that need Your healing and restoration. [Use the following prayer to insert the names of those on your heart.]
Come, Holy Spirit, into ____________’s greatest need. Manifest to them the healing power of Jesus. We bring _________under all the redeeming power of the blood of Jesus. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the promise-keeping Healer. Let ____________ receive Your tender mercy in this time of need. In Your faithfulness, minister healing grace and love as we hope in You.
We pray for fathers to love their wives and train their children in the way they should go. We pray for mothers to respect their husbands and nurture their children in the fear of the Lord. We pray for children to honor their parents and eagerly follow after You. As we humbly ask You to forgive selfishness and sin, may every family be rooted and built up in You, strengthened in the faith, and overflowing with thankfulness (Col.2:7).
We receive a blanket of Your love, peace and protection over all the families of Huntsville/Madison County today in Jesus Name.
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is His faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” Lam. 3:22-24
